my complain letter ^^

Complain about the unreasonable shouting towards the passenger, will it ruin Visit Malaysia 2007?

Note: I think that this is an issue that happened in Malaysia that can’t be ignore, so that I CC my complain letter to Tourism Malaysia, MyFM, The Star Press, China Press. I hope you take a notice on this issue.

To Whom It May Concern:

My Name is xxx, a fresh graduate from UTAR with a Degree in Computer Science. Currently, I’m working in an office as a programmer, the office locate at opposite Sunway. I’m taking public transport to the office.

I prefer to take Rapid KL buses, because we can buy the daily pass with only RM 2 and it can be reuse for whole day. I have many stories about my bus rides. I chase for bus before; I waited the bus for one hour then the bus only come; I saw the bus driver smoking; when I’m on board, I saw the bus driver didn’t stop at the bus stop when there is people at the bus stop there putting up their hand and ask the bus to stop, etc.

All of that, I’m also lazy to go make any complain, but today I felt that I must do this, I must “COMPLAIN”. The incident happens on 19th July 2009, 6.50PM, opposite Sunway bus stop. I can take bus U63, U67 or U76 to go home, but normally, during this peak time all of the bus also be crowded. Yet, the people who are waiting at the bus stop will go up the bus even the bus is crowded, people stand side by side, some time even worse is standing and squeeze until shoulder pressing with others’ shoulder. It is too many people to fit in to the crowded bus and the duration for the next bus to come is very long.

Normally, when the buses are crowded, the bus driver will ask the passenger to go in the bus by using back door. Sometime no need ask also the passenger will go up the bus by the back door with the bus ticket. This happens because people inside the bus prefer to stand at the front part of the bus instead to stand on the behind of the bas. This will cause jam at the front part and not able to let the other passengers to go in the bus. Here come the usage of the back door for the passenger to go in the bus and fill up the behind part of the bus.

Today this case happened to me, the bus came and it is crowded. Therefore I show my ticket to the bus driver and go inside the bus by using the back door. The behind part are always more free compare to the front part of the bus. There is no seat, so I stand at there and wait the bus to go. Suddenly, the bus driver shouted and asking for the person that goes inside the bus by using the back door. That is me, I thought he wants to see my bus ticket, and then I show him my ticket. Again he unreasonably shouts to me in front of so many people with these words “KAMU TURUN SEKARANG!!!” He keeps on shouts these words with no manner for few times. Therefore, I walk to the drivers there and talk with him. When I reached in front of him, he shouted me again “KAMU TURUN SEKARANG!!!” Okay, I don’t know what happen to this bus driver. I felt that he is humiliating me in front of so many people.

I ask for his name in a good manner “Siapa nama kamu?” He shouted me with “KAMU TURUN SEKARANG!!!” Okay!, I clarify with him that I’ll go down from the bus, but I wanted to know his name. I ask for his name again “Siapa name kamu?” He insists to tell me his name and same response from him, he shouted to me with “KAMU TURUN SEKARANG!!!”

Okay, I go down from the bus, and I directly record down the vehicle registration number and details in my hand phone. The following is the details:

Bus Company: Rapid KL

Vehicle Registration Number: WPL 748
Bus Number: U63

Incident Time: 6.50PM

Date: 19th July 2007
Incident Location: Opposite Sunway Bus Stop

I don’t know what action you will take when you receive this mail, maybe you will just press the delete button. I want nothing from you; I just don’t hope to see the same incident happen to others. I’m started to worry about how other foreigner will think about Malaysia if this incident happen on them. This year is Visit Malaysia 2007. Many tourists will come to Malaysia and visit. Public transport plays an important role in here. Many of the tourists do not own any transport; therefore they will take the public transport. If the drivers still carrying this attitude to provide such services to the customers, I’m sure that the tourists will feel bad about Malaysia. Even the Malaysian also feels shame. Are this is the right manner to welcome/provide services to peoples?

Visit Malaysia 2007 is a successful or a tragedy is depending on how Malaysian welcomes/serves the visitors. Say frankly, I’m very disappointed with the services, manner and attitude.

Regards..
